I used to be a city girl who lived and worked in Jo’burg. I knew nothing about the bush, I knew I wanted to learn more. I heard about a volunteer post with an elephant research project and after a month, they decided to keep me on. I have been here almost three years, and each day am reminded how priviviledged I am to be here. Its given me such an insight into how far away human beings have come from living with nature, learning from her, taking what is needed instead of what is wanted. The journey that started out as a do-over has turned into my passion, my life has purpose again.
When I lie in bed at night and hear the lions roar or the leopard coughing in the riverbed below, I know I am blessed and I know I can never be anywhere else but here. I am home.
I wanted to be able to share my love for this place, these creatures, and the people I work with through photos and words!
